Show & Tell

Happy Friday! Happy happy Friday! Why is it that this shortened week felt insanely longer than a normal one?

Well, the weekend is almost upon us and I thought I'd share some inspiration images I've snapped with my trusty iPhone around the city over the past few months... Enjoy!

Fashionable Interiors

People are always saying that interior design is influenced by fashion, but these days I feel like it's the other day around...

A Day in the Life: TOOOSDAY

Happy Tuesday! I've got a new blog feature here on The Goods called "A Day in the Life." I'm always curious about how other creative ladies/freelancers spend their day, so occasionally I will be snapping pics of my day and sharing them with you in my A Day in the Life columns.

dayinthelife

8:03 - reading blogs, tweets and emails in bed.
I have three offices. 1: my real office, which I rarely use
2: my den which has a desktop computer and my puppy's favorite sofa.
3: my bed. my favorite "office" to work in.

10:17 - popping over to a client's home to pick up lampshades. decided to take some shots of the design progress.

10:24 - client's dining room. it's all coming together!

12:41 - dropping off the lampshades and the trim with Sherry - the amazing woman at Ralph's Interiors who helps me with all my upholstery/pillow/trim needs! Love our visits. They make work feel like not-work.

12:45 - one of Sherry's puppies says good-bye as I head out.

1:38 - lunch & coffee with my friend Marissa.

4:23 - putting together a mood board for another wonderful client.

4:58 - trying to take a look of some Kelly Wearstler fabrics for a client - my design assistant decides to hijack the photo.

7:11 - off to spinning! because blogging does nothing to keep my booty looking nice.

Can't wait to share my next Day in the Life!

It's No Mix-Up

Check out this article on The Inside Source {called "It's No Mix Up" about mixing patterns and prints - one of my favorite things to do.} It includes a project that I did and my take on mixing it up.

Found It (Hopefully!)

If you've been reading regularly in the past two weeks, you know I've been on a mission to find the perfect patterned wallpaper for a client's dining room.

I think we've got it!

LACED by Flavor Paper. On the ceiling.

It comes in these four gorgeous colors - though they can do custom too.

Peony on white mica would be genius in a little girl's room...
Lace was huge on Oscar dresses this year - now I'm obsessed with it for the home!

Phew!

Yesterday was exhausting - a big installation of a grand entry chandelier, a run over to HD Buttercup to memo a rug, and a visit to an old client to finish the last little details of her home. I got home at 6, and my head hit the pillow immediately. Today I'm regrouping and promise fresh goods tomorrow!

Dinner for Ten!

I'm working on some new designs for clients - a dining room design is on the top of my to-do list, so here's a sneak peak at some of my ideas...

She showed me this Crate & Barrel dining table, which I love.

The view from above.
Reminds me of this spectacular table I saw in NYC at ABC.

I love the idea of softening up the table with these slipcovered chairs.

And these MG+BW wing chairs for the heads of the table.

And of course the look wouldn't be complete without my favorite light fixture from Ochre!

Another look I've put together - all from my man Jonathan Adler (well, technically he's not MY man, but I can dream)Writing this post is seriously making me hungry. Good thing my office is only 30 feet from my kitchen!

In Good Company

I have been asked in the past to contribute to The Inside Source (a fabulous website for fashion, home & garden and other trends.) So when I was asked to send in my ideas for the biggest interior design trends of 2010, I was excited to participate. When I returned home from my amazing trip to Costa Rica the other day (more about that to come), I was happy to see that the piece was online and thrilled to be in the company of such talented designers!

Our House!

So in the last few weeks some MAJOR purchases for my home have arrived, and now, phase 1 of my home design is complete! Phase 1 has been the living room, dining room and the den. And now I get to kick back, relax and enjoy the view!

Here's a little virtual home tour - right when you step in the front door.
So grateful for that piano, given to my grandmother for her sweet sixteen gift and passed along to me a few years ago.

Our new Jonathan Adler Preston Console arrived on Friday (special thanks to Rebecca June for her help!) - there it is under our painting of our dog... My famous pup, Chapman, is sitting on the sofa. He never misses an opportunity for some publicity.

Love my brass drum from the flea market. We paid $60-ish for it, and I recently saw one at the LA Mart for $300!!!

Silver candle skull (picked out by my stylin' husband.)

I love my fireplace dogs and my Louis Ghost chair!

The dining room has been complete for a while, but here are some new shots.

I am so happy with my den (with my new Ballard Designs mirrors.)

Love this shot (all pictures taken by my incredibly talented husband.)Happy happy joy joy in my home!
