These lotus flower pendants, from Trad Home, were a brilliant idea for this dining room.

Last Night Lighting

Last night I had dinner with some good friends at Culina at the Four Seasons {Beverly Hills} The food was just eh, but the lighting above was wow.

Tonight's dinner will {hopefully} be better - I'm cooking some yummys from the Two Dudes One Pan cookbook {the guys who own Animal here in LA} Wish me luck!

Friday Find: Chic Lantern Lighting by Urban Electric Co

designer lantern lighting urban electric

I’ve been on the lookout for just the right lantern pendant in an entryway. The selection of fabulous lighting at Urban Electric Co. has always been impressive, but I am loving the variety of lantern lighting currently available. I’ve selected some of my favorites to show you.

Urban Electric features several lighting collections by designers such as Mark Maresca and Michael Amato. Some of my favorite lanterns they designed appear above.

Another remarkable lighting collection represented by Urban Electric is by designer Amanda Nisbet.  She brilliantly infuses some bright, playful color in her lighting collection. Gorgeous!

Light Light

This image from Dabble Magazine definitely shows that a light fixture can be the star of the show...

I'm in love with this light fixture - Bespoke Chanel silk scarf chandelier by Suzan Fellman from Vivre.

If you don't want to make a huge commitment to a chandelier or pendant, these lamp shades are the perfect pick-me-up (from Anthropologie)

Lights off...

Lights on!

Rainbow in the End

It's supposed to rain all weekend (which I actually like, especially if I can cuddle up in my pjs with some hot cocoa.) So while the LA skies are gray, I need to keep these rainbow goodies in mind...

Hope this brings some sunshine to my weekend!

Phew!

Yesterday was exhausting - a big installation of a grand entry chandelier, a run over to HD Buttercup to memo a rug, and a visit to an old client to finish the last little details of her home. I got home at 6, and my head hit the pillow immediately. Today I'm regrouping and promise fresh goods tomorrow!

Color Combo - Red and Gold!

Last night I had a girls night out (a belated celebration of my 31st b-day) and I decided to pull out my Loubou's.
My husband bought me these red Christian Louboutin wedges for my 30th birthday, which I LOVE but I've only worn once. So I realized it's about time I break them in.

In a stroke of genius, I paired them with my skinny jeans and this top from Edun, with gold thread woven in.

I threw on my watch and party ring and went on my merry way to dinner!

It got me thinking about combining red and gold in the home - and I'm loving it. I can absolutely see this gold moroccan pouf {from Horchow}...

Next to this red fretwork table {also Horchow}

Or how about these two pillows together?Red zebra from Jonathan Adler, Gold sequin from Nate Berkus for HSN.

LOVE this Arteriors lamp.

Which I'd place next to this D.L. & Co red candle.

Fashion-wise, if I'd like to rock some more red and gold, there's always this adorable ban.do headband!

Dinner for Ten!

I'm working on some new designs for clients - a dining room design is on the top of my to-do list, so here's a sneak peak at some of my ideas...

She showed me this Crate & Barrel dining table, which I love.

The view from above.
Reminds me of this spectacular table I saw in NYC at ABC.

I love the idea of softening up the table with these slipcovered chairs.

And these MG+BW wing chairs for the heads of the table.

And of course the look wouldn't be complete without my favorite light fixture from Ochre!

Another look I've put together - all from my man Jonathan Adler (well, technically he's not MY man, but I can dream)Writing this post is seriously making me hungry. Good thing my office is only 30 feet from my kitchen!

Let there Be Light!

After seeing this Tom Dixon light fixture in Lonny and Elle Decor {dot} com, I realized I must post. Changing out the decorative lighting is such an easy way to make a HUGE difference in your space. Our house came with a fixture in the dining room that looked straight out of the Home Depot catalog. We switched it out for an inexpensive but gorgeous light from Z Gallerie and we get compliments every time someone comes over!

Love this light - it would bring any breakfast nook into 2011.

Best of the Goods - Lighting Edition

Decorative lighting is one of my favorite elements in a designed space. It can really bring that sense of sparkle and drama to a space.
These light fixtures are some of my favorites (I'm clearly a design nerd, as I'm getting all excited about light fixture favorites!)

This girlie chandelier has been a favorite of mine for a long time.
Vivre

This similar one was used in a space designed by Kara Mann - LOVE how it's juxtaposed against the black walls.

Another drippy gorgeous look.
Arteriors

Little details can make a huge difference - the bird mural takes a simple chandelier and elevates it.
This is Glamorous

Chandelier in a box! Genius!
Nest

I've been drooling over these Bocci pendants for years and am waiting for the right client to come along to give them a good home.

I got to see these fixtures on my visit to NYC - just as gorgeous in person.
Ochre

This chandelier could stop traffic.
Hudson

I love when nature and lighting meet - natural elements are able to soften up the hard elements in lighting.

I'm still trying to find a good home for this lamp.
Plantation

I've seen these lotus blossoms in many magazine spreads, and I always swoon.

This lotus blossom lamp always makes me smile.Horchow

I don't put Christmas lights up at my house - but I'd gladly put a few of these gorgeous light fixtures up for the holidays!
