Paper Trail

As my husband, my friends and my credit card company know, I love to spend my extra lunch money on gorgeous stationary. Yes, I'm also a techie - blogging, facebook, twitter, iPhone - but nothing compares to a handwritten note.
LOVED the spread that Matchbook Magazine did on local stationary shop Sugar Paper, one of my favorite places to get gorgeous paper goods.

Would love a wrapping paper and ribbon room someday a la Candy Spelling.

A few years ago I bought this goodie from Sugar Paper - 100% recycled from paper bags. Looks gorgeous against sharp black ink.

On my trip last October to NYC with Lynsey {of Law of Fashion}, I was obsessed with getting stationary from Kate's Paperie.

Lovely Louise

I've gushed on the blog many-a-time about Walnut Wallpaper, LA's best wallpaper one-stop-shop. Amazing Selection + Interesting Unique Goodies + Helpful Staff = Very Loyal Customers.

Recently, they introduced me to the work of Louise Body, an amazing artist and designer who not only creates these beauties {wallpapers and fabrics}, but also adds watercolor hand touches to the wallpapers before they are shipped off. The overall feel is vintage yet hip and updated. So in love, I might need to find a way to use one of her fabrics in my bedroom... {starting my re-design next week!}

Her birdie wallpapers and fabrics are sweet and lovely.

And her vintage inspired lace pattern leaves me speechless. Her mock-up of the drapery is adorable!

A little sunshine this weekend

Saturday started out as a Debbie Downer kind of day. My house almost flooded from the rains we are having in LA, and I spent hours (and $635) with Roto-Rooter as they cleaned out the drains in our backyard. My husband was gone all day for work. My car started to freak out and needs to be brought in to the shop. They put too much onion in my burrito. Nothing seemed to be going my way...

Until I visited Faire Frou Frou in Studio City (just a hop skip and jump away from my house.) I had read about it in Rue magazine and was equally excited to check out the decor AND buy myself a new ban.do to sport at my friend's engagement party.

I was lucky enough to meet one of the owners, Alison, who is as sweet as the store is fabulous. The whole experience brought some sunshine to my day!

Newest (Local!) Designer Crush

As an LA native, I love reading Los Angeles magazine - it's always got great restaurants, shops and fascinating tidbits about my city (my fav issue had a behind the scenes look at the lives of the interesting people who dress up as movie characters on Hollywood Blvd.)

This issue had a tiny pic of a Sunset Blvd home shop - Tobi Tobin. I checked out her website and now I cannot wait to visit her shop!

The adorable shop entrance...

Can't wait to hunt for some fabulous treasures in here.

I loved the Hollywood Hills house from her portfolio. Stunning!

I'll report back after my visit!
